Nutcracker Information

  for Your Elementary School

Round Rock Repertory Dance Centre has been performing our own, very special version of THE NUTCRACKER for the last 18 years! Our lecture/demonstration is a unique approach to this holiday story ballet involving the dance centre's trained staff, the performing group, and dance students, dancing with, not simply for, your elementary students!  This magical hour long experience is geared toward students in the 1st and 2nd grade.

 

The dance students and staff of "RRRDC" will lead the elementary students through the story of THE NUTCRACKER using basic locomotor skills.  Students will become an important part of the performance and can feel confident in their skills.  Girls will create the party guest, flower, and snowflake characters while the boys energetically bring the mice and Russian soldiers to life.

 

To dancers, THE NUTCRACKER ballet IS the holiday season.

 

Basic info:

•  We start booking for these performances in September and spots are first come first serve. It is a much awaited event by area schools. Please book early; we are limited to the number of performances we can accommodate.
• We schedule performances the first 2 weeks in December, following Thanksgiving.
•  Time slots are 8:30am or 1:30pm
•  Cost is $300.00 starting 2012-2013 school year
•  We will send your teachers a few curriculum ideas to help prepare the students prior to their special day.
