Mission Statement
Our mission at Round Rock Repertory Dance Centre is to provide a comprehensive, classical dance education which nurtures a student’s mind, body and spirit through creative and artistic expression, self-awareness, independence, confidence, coordination, problem solving, motor skills, poise, leadership and team work, all through the highest standards of technical training and available resources.
History
Round Rock Repertory Dance Centre (RRRDC) has been providing excellent dance training to area students since 1984.
Established under the leadership of Susan Babcock, the studio changed ownership in 2005. Under the direction of Julie Roper, the studio grew into its beautiful new facility, expanding both the programs offered and the space which houses them. In 2015 Maggie Cantoran took ownership. She established the Emerge Dance Company, and has continued to grow the studio.
Our alumni have been accepted into the Alvin Ailey Trainee Program, the Joffrey Ballet Jazz & Contemporary Trainee Program, Leon DanceArts Trainee Program, Broadway Dance Center’s Trainee Program, several summer intensive programs, notable college and university dance departments, and the officer lines of local high school drill teams.
Facilities
Round Rock Repertory has three beautiful studios, each created to meet a specific need.
The small studio is designed for our youngest dancers.
This intimate space makes them feel comfortable.
The myriad of props, hoops, scarves, tambourines, and tutus… make it a veritable playground for exploration.
Our medium studio is designed for large movement.
The sun streams in windows covering two walls of this room, adding energy and light to classes.
The large studio is in our in-house theatre that seats 115. The marley dance surface covers a 24×34 stage floor.
The training of our dancers is enhanced by the large volume of space, the true theatrical experience of learning real-time staging, and the presence of audience members during class.
