Nutcracker Lecture Demonstration
Each year, the staff and students of Round Rock Repertory eagerly anticipate the presentation of The Nutcracker to local school districts. Our lecture demonstration is a unique approach to this holiday story ballet, involving the studio’s trained staff, the Emerge Dance Compnay, and studio students dancing WITH, not simply for, the elementary students. This magical, hour long interactive performance is geared for students in 1st and 2nd grade.
Cecchetti Certification Program
The Cecchetti Council of America is an organization dedicated to maintaining the standards and method of ballet training established by Cav. Enrico Cecchetti. Round Rock Repertory offers ballet classes using his teaching and writings in a sequence of grades, carefully measured as to degree of difficulty and physical development, and utilizing the Cecchetti Council’s system of accredited examinations to test the student's proficiency within those grades.
Winter Performance
The Winter Performance, held at the conclusion of the fall semester, gives the students the opportunity to be a part of the creative process through the construction of sets, costumes, and props. A studio-wide production, all children, ages and levels of ability are included in this performance centered on a story, such as The Nutcracker, 12 Dancing Princesses, and Babes in Toyland.
